See How She Fights

She thought it was over.
She thought her life was finally her own.
She was wrong.

Izzy is thrust back into the world of Seers and Guardians. With a summons from the Council she can't ignore, Izzy heads back into the fray. Now, it is up to her to figure out why Seers are being sacrificed, carved up, and left for ruin. If she doesn't find the person orchestrating the deaths, she may well be next.

If that wasn't enough, her powers have started to expand exponentially. Kennan is keeping secrets. Moreover, a strangely familiar Symbol-smith starts wreaking havoc on her precariously balanced world.

Will Izzy survive this latest crisis? Will she stop fighting destiny and accept her fate? Find out in See How She Fights.

See How She Falls

Darkness is on the rise.

The prophecy has been called forth.

The Seer must fall.

Izzy knew she wasn't safe, the lingering runes told her that much. What they didn't tell her was how to lead the Council, stop the darkness, and keep everyone she loved safe.

With irreparable changes brought on by Aberto's intervention, a relative she never knew existed, and a whole slew of horrifying visions assaulting her, will she be strong enough? Or will the darkness prevail taking her and everyone she loves down with it?

Seeing is Believing

The life of a Seer isn't for the faint of heart. I should know. Mine has been one of upheaval for the past few years, what with the downfall of the lab, the recent exile from the Council, and a future that is suddenly becoming painfully clear.

With Izzy missing, and the darkness still looming, I know what must be done. I have to go to the Order, find a way to bring Izzy back, and get to the bottom of what is really happening with this darkness business.

I'm just not sure how to do that when Ian is haunted by his past, Revenants are out to make me one of their own, and the dreaming keeps trying to reject me.

EXERPT

See How She Runs

I’m dreaming. I know I am, but somehow it doesn’t feel that way. “Iz, run as fast as you can!” I hear my mother yell in a panicked voice. “Iz, you have no idea what you are, please just run, hide before it is too late! You have to get away from him. I’m so sorry, baby. Please just run. You can’t let him take you."

See How She Fights

“Hello?” I yelled. Even in the dreaming I knew this was a half-baked idea. I heard moaning in the distance. I moved forward through the foggy oblivion, the sound my only guide. The eerie noise echoed and bounced until I could not find my way. I was lost.
I turned to run but was greeted with a new nightmare. I looked down at almost a dozen bodies. Each one more gruesome than the last. They reached out for me with blood crusted arms. Their wails shredded my soul. I couldn’t breathe. Everywhere I looked, there were eyeless figures, begging me for help. I wanted to save them. I wanted to make them whole again. I tried to remember that it was just the dreaming. It was not real. This was not reality. I closed my eyes and tried to steady my breathing

See How She Falls

I reached the edge of the cemetery and looked up to the thunderheads forming overhead. I knew that the battle raged on above me. I’d seen it more times than I could count. The end was here, my grand finale. I looked back to Kennan, who stood far off in the distance. “I love you," I whispered, hoping that the wind would carry my promise to him. My last chance to tell him how I truly felt. Time had run out.

Fool’s Errand (The Chronicles of Izzy 1.5, a Conall Short story available in From The Ashes)

“Things are not always as easy, or clear as they may seem.  This life will surprise you if you remember to live it.”  Cait dropped her hand down to the bed heavily as her back arched.  Another wave of pain shot through her; an agony I was powerless to relieve.

Seeing is Believing (The Chronicles of Izzy 3.5, a Molly and Ian novelette)

Voices multiplied in the fog as the bodies descended upon me. Every zombie movie I’d ever seen hadn’t prepared me for the horror of what my eyes beheld. I wanted to run, to flee their pleas, but my feet would not budge.
            “Save us!” the voices wailed.
“Do not let us perish and fall.”
“Act now or all is lost.”
Voice after voice joined the dying chorus, making the sound unbearable. The Revenants reached out toward me, their touch igniting my skin. My soul burned. Excruciating pain traversed my body.
            “Please, stop.” I whimpered.
“There is no end,.” The Revenants replied, fading back into the fog, suddenly ripping me back to reality.
